In a study conducted with 22 pregnant women living in the Boston area, who consumed 2 servings of fish per week between 2009 and 2010; 10 of the pregnant women stated that fish may contain mercury, and 16 of them stated that mercury is dangerous and may affect neurological development. Women reported that they would have consumed more fish if they had received advice on the type of fish they could consume safely and how much they could consume.
