Prosecutors in Spain demanded a prison sentence of more than 8 years for the famous singer Shakira for tax evasion.
According to AA from La Prensa Latina; Spanish prosecutors said the Colombian singer could be sentenced to 8 years and 2 months in prison for alleged tax evasion of 14.5 million euros in 2012-2014.

After Shakira’s refusal to settle in the tax evasion case, the prosecutor reportedly will seek a fine of more than 23 million euros in addition to a prison sentence.

Shakira announced her decision to go to court yesterday to prove her innocence instead of going to reconciliation.
In May, the Barcelona Court ruled that Shakira, who was accused of evading taxes of 14.5 million euros by hiding her income from 2012-2014, while she resided in Spain, in tax haven countries, rejected her objections and decided to stand trial on 6 different charges.
Shakira, who lives with Barcelona football player Gerard Pique, with whom she has two children, recently ended her 11-year relationship.
