In a statement made by the China Maritime Security Administration, it was stated that the said areas will be closed to ship traffic due to military exercises to be carried out between August 8 and September 8 in the Bohay Sea near the capital Beijing, and on August 7-15 in the south of the Yellow Sea.
About 300 kilometers southeast of Beijing, the Bohay Sea is located in an inland sea position in the Bay of the Yellow Sea, bounded by the Liaodong peninsulas to the north and Ciadong to the south.
