Gazprom declares ‘force majeure’ for gas supply cuts

Gazprom company said that it cannot supply gas to its German customers due to force majeure. Two German companies said on Tuesday that Gazprom, Russia’s largest company and the world’s largest natural gas producer, cited force majeure as the reason for the interruption in gas shipments to Europe.

Uniper company, one of Germany’s largest importers of Russian natural gas, confirmed that they had received a letter from Gazprom as a response to the cuts, which allegedly resulted from force majeure.
