Houthis hit oil facility in Arabia

Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen struck Aramco oil facilities near the track where the Formula 1 grand prix will be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. After the attack, a fire broke out in the facilities.

Formula 1 organizers announced that the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix will take place despite the attack, which occurred about 16 kilometers from the track. Managers and F1 drivers held a 4-hour meeting that lasted until 2.30 am local time yesterday evening.

Although it was stated that some names expressed their concerns at the meeting, it was stated that F1 head Stefano Domenicali “guaranteed that everything is fine”. It was stated that team bosses unanimously supported the race. The final practice and qualifying rounds will be held in Jeddah on Saturday. On Sunday, 5 red lights will go out for the second race of the F1 season.
