Role Synopsis: BP has embarked on an ambitious plan to modernize and transform using digital technologies to drive efficiencies and effect new business models. The Customer and Products entity is BP’s product and service led arm, primarily focused on building sustainable competitive returns and enduring growth in the fuels, lubricants and petrochemicals markets. Customer and Products globally has a strategy to “Grow the Retail business by 50% over the next 5 years and increase contactable loyalty customer base by 30% in the next 5 years”.This role sits within the BP’s Digital Customer and Markets Organization and you are the IT Service Owner for the US BPme technology teams, providing technology leadership to a number of squads accountable for building products and features along with the running of IT Services and products. Growing and strengthening the technical talent base, bringing experts together to influence technology strategy and operations in Retail Marketing.

Essential Education

Bachelor’s (or higher) degree, preferably in Computer Science, MIS/IT, Mathematics or a hard science.

Essential Experience

  • Equivalent work experience in a relevant role or roles in an agile environment
  • Technical experience in a remit such as Software Engineering or Platform Engineering and familiarity with Full Stack Development with a preference for the following technologies: C#, .Net, Angular, React, Node JS, Azure, AWS / Cloud
  • Practical experience with automation frameworks, the use and development of REST-based APIs and a passion for open-source approaches to application development.
  • An understanding of modern development methodologies (Agile using Scrum and/or Kanban) with real-world experience in development. You are familiar with code, and can assess quality and ensure products deliver to a high standard.
  • Applications Management experience as it relates to developing solutions, managing vendors, and creating fluid experiences for all end users.

Specifically, this role oversees the technology teams who are responsible for the development and operations of BPme Mobile App, Loyalty and Subscription features and bp partnership redemptions solutions. You will manage third party vendors to continually improve ways of working, alignment with technical best practices and devops maturity. You will be accountable for ensuring squads adhere to good automation testing practices and develop considering both digital security and PCI compliance. You will be responsible for managing the forecasting for the squads and continually developing the correct resource profiles to best deliver features.
