Chronological flow is coming to Instagram Home Page

Instagram will introduce two different methods by giving up the algorithm-based display of posts in users’ Home feed. The platform plans to release chronological streams and favorites to users in the first quarter of next year.

Chronological order and favorites feature on Instagram

In a blog post shared in June, Instagram said: “By 2016, people were missing 70% of all feed posts. That’s why we developed and launched a feed that ranks posts by what you care about most.” statements were made. Following this algorithm-based change, the company has come under a lot of scrutiny over how its algorithms rank and recommend content, especially for young and underage users.

Adam Mosseri, head of Instagram, said at a senate session on youth online safety that the company has been working on the chronological order of posts on the Home Page for months and will begin rolling out the feature early next year.

In addition to the chronological order on Twitter, the social media platform announced that a favorites feature will be included in the application, which will allow users to see the posts from the users they choose in a higher order. Users can optionally decide on one of these options.
