Title:Accounting Support Specialist

As a member of KBR’s GSUS Shared Services team, the Accounting Support Specialist will support the organization with various Accounts Payable activities focused around ensuring the accuracy of vendor invoices. As a primary responsibility, this role will perform AP invoice processing and related support activities using our OnBase automated software package. Key responsibilities will include some or all of the following: ensuring the accuracy of invoice capture, performing invoice initial review to include invoice coding and routing, and/or providing internal and vendor support for invoice status, issue resolution, or other. This role will be responsible for other activities supporting the team including backup duties, system testing, or other activities as needed and directed by the leadership team.  This role will require collaborating with AP team members as well as various business partners and stakeholders and therefore demands excellent customer service and relationship skills. This position is located in Huntsville AL and is expected in the near term to be a hybrid of working in-office and remote but subject to change as directed by leadership.

Job Responsibilities:

– Perform verification that accounting software correctly captured the primary information from the face of the invoice

– Assist with manual voucher audits of peers’ data entry

– Work with vendors and Company contacts to process time-sensitive documents for reimbursement on a strict deadline schedule

– Verify the internal consistency, completeness and mathematical accuracy of reports, lists, calculations, and postings

– Work with vendors and internal contacts to resolve issues in a timely manner

– Solve routine problems of various complexity following established policies, practices, and procedures

– Works under general supervision and follows established procedures for routine tasks

– Enter data, scan & upload documents, and general filing

– Provide assistance as required to the entire AP Team

– Other responsibilities as needed and assigned

Qualifications:

– High School Diploma or Equivalent with 2 years relevant work experience required

– Proficient in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel

– Ability to concisely communicate orally, in writing and electronically

– Excellent customer service skills including a friendly and helpful demeanor

– Effective teamwork skills but also with the ability to work independently

– Time management and problem-solving skills

– Ability to adapt to changes in responsibilities as the needs of the company change and grow

– Must be willing to work overtime as needed to cover department responsibilities

 Preferred:

– Undergraduate Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

– Direct experience with Hyland OnBase and/or Deltek Costpoint

– Experience working in a Government Contracting environment is a plus

– Customer Service Center experience a plus
